Testing and Feedback
We decided to work together with the Upper Hutt library, and get some feedback from our target audience from a school holiday program. We showed them our solutions, engaging with the children and asking them questions around what we could do to improve and encourage them to want to take part in the Summer Reading Challenge. This was our feedback:
MAP
-Needs to be clearer
-Small sticker slots need to be labelled
-Make it clear that they can do any form of reading (ie comics, listen to audio books, etc)
-Trentham Trickster should be hidden throughout the map e.g hiding behind trees, houses, etc
ACTIVITY PACK
-Really like key rings
-Feels a bit girly. Needs to appeal more for boys
-Should be called a 'Hero Pack'
PROMOTIONAL POSTERS
-Trentham Tickster, bad guy, should stand out more, and be more 'evil'
-Prizes should be advertised on the poster
-Should be more relevant to reading e.g an image of a book, mascots holding books, etc
WEBSITE
-They should be able to register through the website
MASCOTS
-Boy should not be missing a tooth
-Girl is too feminine in pink - change to purple
OVERALL KEY POINTS
--People should go around the schools and promote the program, as majority of kids like the sound of it but have never heard about it
--Prizes are the key motivation to encourage the kids to participate. Suggested prizes were Xbox, Playstation, Ipad and vouchers.
